What Happened on My Surfing Holiday on The Sunshine Coast
It was close to 5:30 am and dawn was nigh. One could pick up the noise of surf crashing at the coastline merely 50 metres from where I lay, relaxed in my bed. I remembered the commitment I’d made myself the previous day but my slight headache from drinking too much beer had me finding excuses. So I slept a little bit longer…
It’s guilt that ultimately helped me get up and change into my bathers. Being almost 40 and my propensity for a beer was clearly showing; in particular around my middle. I also need to get rid of cellulite which is beginning to show on my upper thighs – that’s another story. Hence, in spite of the slight soreness in my head, i took off, surf board tightly tucked under my arm, to catch some waves. Next an astonishing thing happened.
I took my surfboard out about 150 metres and sat in the tranquil seas just beyond the surf break and gazed wearily out to sea. I checked to my left and after that to the right, there was clearly no-one else on the beach or in the surf. My heart skipped a beat as my attention turned to what could be lurking below. Isn’t it funny how we are inclined to feel secure when there are others around; similar to birds in a group or possibly a school of fish. Then, just a metre to my right hand side, it appeared. There was a loud disturbance and it rose out of the water.
I virtually fell off my surfboard! My heart was beating furiously and my system of self preservation kicked in. The high-speed injection of adrenaline straight into my system heightened the senses. After that I realized what it was.
A fabulous dolphin and her very small newborn rose carefully out of the sea under a metre from where I sat then it effortlessly re-entered the water and passed immediately beneath my board. I observed as they went on their journey away from me. This left me feeling a tremendous relief that i was safe from harm but additionally awe at the splendor of this scene. There is no way I could explain this to you in a way that proficiently communicates my experience. No amount of storytelling can communicate the experience. So I can only ask you to visualize what it would have been like.
About two hours after that I returned to our beachside residence and had breakfast with my family as well as my normal dose of my best probiotic (to help ease the stomach). Our holiday accommodation Cotton Tree place is a retreat from the rat race. It’s also a location where you are able to enjoy the natural beauty of this popular holiday destination for Australians.
Should you ever journey to the stunning Sunshine Coast of Queensland, lookup for holiday accommodation Cotton Tree on Google and you will find many places to stay. I encourage you get up early enough in the morning and stroll along the seaside, you might be lucky to see dolphins traversing the beach. Perhaps you will see the same ones that gave me such a scare. It is the best time of the day, as the sun rises over the horizon, you won’t regret it.
What’s the best date to fly to Budapest
During the whole year, Budapest offers lots of attractions for its visitors. You can find numerous renowned places and various events, that appeal to tourists from the whole World. It is recommended to know however when to travel there to bypass crowded days with expensive rates or bad weather conditions.
The weather in Hungary is typical continental, which means a classical 4-season year. Wintertime is fairly cold with some snow and temperatures well below zero, ugly weather is there for about 2-3 months. The spring is adorable, in March, the temperatures can be around 20 degrees sometimes, however the common early spring temperature is around under 15 degrees. April is very changeable many summery days and a few showery or stormy. May comes with excellent weather often with summery days. The summer is primarily hot, with even 35 degrees, but especially in July some colder intervals can turn up with lots of rain. Summer usually ends with September and autumn weather is great mostly until November.
In the travel industry high season usually starts in April and concludes with October, meaning higher hotel rates, of course. There’s a good chance to run into some good deals in the end of March or early November with surprisingly cut-rate off-season prices, when making a search for apartments in Budapest. It makes sense to study actual temperatures and go last minute if the prospects are good, in order to save some money. If you’re not taking part, it’s best to stay away from huge events, like for example the Formula 1 Championship in July and the Sziget music festival in August, because things are pricier and hotel rooms will be reserved months earlier. It’s very much the same with weekends in May and September. If you endure summer temperature, you can look for cheap hotels in Budapest in June or July and ask for a bargain price.
A further highly appealing date is year’s end, because there are plenty of events and hundreds of places to celebrate in the city of Budapest. This comes with elevated hotel prices, accordingly. It is interesting though, that before and around Christmas, the number of visitors is relatively low. Which is a perfect chance to explore the city and purchase Christmas presents in the numerous decorated Christmas fairs in the festively illuminated inner city.
